These two soft spoken, nature lovers were a delight to shoot for. Their wedding was small and intimate, yet not lacking in anything… especially love. The rain drove the ceremony indoors but the mist afterwards was not too much to scare Chris and Carrie and their guests away from getting photos outside. The Foothills Equestrian and Nature Center in South Carolina provided a stunning natural backdrop and the dramatic storm clouds added to the perfection of the day. Chris and Carrie were natural and heartfelt during their photos as we drove around Lake Lanier, visited with their puppy, Jack, and walked the streets of downtown Saluda. I felt like an invited guest by the end of the evening sitting at a dinner table at The Purple Onion with Chris and Carrie's closest loved ones.

Fields, Dresses, and Rain Showers / September 29, 2014 by Karin Strickland

A few weeks back I had the pleasure of shooting a bridal session for a friends sister at the farm where I live. Danielle, the bride-to-be, and her sister and Mom came out for the shoot at the golden hour. After waiting through a 15 minute rain shower we had the farm, sparkling grass, and soft evening light to work with. We tromped all over the expansive property, Danielle never once complaining about having to hike up her wedding dress and walk through the tall, wet grass. I had a wonderful time shooting her and could hardly wait to post some of her gorgeous photos. Her wedding will be posted here soon, so stay tuned!
